The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department arrested a mother and daughter after they were caught shoplifting from Walmart, the report stated.
Deputies arrested 43-year-old Carolyn Blackston and her daughter, 17-year-old Janie Blackston, for shoplifting.
According to the report, a loss prevention officer spotted the duo stealing items.
The officer told deputies that he saw the daughter standing in front of the mother attempting to hide what she was doing from surveillance cameras.
According to Sheriff James Metts, the mother was riding a motorized cart.
Metts said the Blackstons were stopped by security as they attempted to exit the store without paying for the merchandise.
Both Carolyn and Janie were arrested and charged with shoplifting. Carolyn was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The Blackstons were transported to Lexington County Detention Center.
