The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department arrested a husband and wife on charges that the couple operated a clandestine mobile methamphetamine laboratory.

Deputies arrested 27-year-old Christopher James Doar and 25-year-old Emmalee Jade Doar on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine.

The report said deputies responded to a call at about 3:40 a.m. on Tuesday concerning a suspicious motor vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a home.

Deputies found the gray 2011 Nissan Versa sedan parked in the driveway of a home on Sugar Loaf Road near Gaston.  Deputies say the couple does not live at the Sugar Loaf Road residence.

Upon arrival, officers located Christopher Doar sitting in the driver’s seat and Emmalee Doar sitting in the front passenger’s seat of the car, the report stated.

Deputies say they detected a strong chemical odor coming from the Nissan they recognized as an indication that a mobile methamphetamine laboratory was being operated inside the vehicle. Deputies also saw drug paraphernalia inside the sedan that is associated with mobile methamphetamine laboratories, the report stated.

According to sheriff’s deputies, the vehicle was secured and Christopher Doar and Emmalee Doar were arrested.

Christopher Doar and Emmalee Doar each were being held on Tuesday at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings. The Doars do not have a permanent address.
