The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man and two brothers in connection with the theft of tools worth more than $8,000 from a business.

Detectives arrested Charles William McCorkle, 42, on an arrest warrant on a charge of receiving stolen goods, Christopher Todd Taylor, 28, on arrest warrants on charges of second-degree burglary and grand larceny, and Cliffton Scott Taylor, 26, on arrest warrants on charges of second-degree burglary and grand larceny, deputies say.

The report said arrest warrants allege that at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday Christopher Taylor and Cliffton Taylor broke into a business located at 177 Lott Court by removing a window.

Deputies say the two brothers stole tools worth more than $8,000 from the business.

The tools included one Stihl weed eater, one Wacker chop saw, one Husquavarna Farm Boss chain saw, one Stihl bush hedger, one Stihl edger, one laser, one Dewalt demolition hammer and one jumping jack, the report stated.

According to sheriff’s deputies, an arrest warrant also alleges that McCorkle received the stolen tools from the burglary at the Lott Court business.

Detectives say they recovered the stolen tools at McCorkle’s home.

Christopher and Cliffton Taylor are being held on Thursday at the Detention Center on bail totaling $25,000 each.

McCorkle was released from the Lexington County Detention Center on Thursday, December 6 after posting a $10,000 bond.
