LES and PMS students bake for a good cause

Pelion Middle students Michael Osmanski, Alexis Wilson and Aleeyah Strzelczyk show off the loaves of bread they made and donated to a local food bank.

Students at Lexington Elementary and Pelion Middle participated in the King Arthur Flour Life Skills Bread Baking Program.

During a how-to-make bread assembly the students received a recipe book, yeast, a bread donation bag, a dough scraper and the know-how to make a loaf of bread from scratch.

Students took the ingredients home, made bread, kept one loaf and donated the other to a local food bank. The students donated more than 200 loaves of bread.
