Cops On Top Of Doughnut Shops

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Lexington Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies participated in the Cops on Top of Doughnut Shops fundraiser. The cops held the fundraiser at the Krispy Kreme stores in both Cayce and Lexington.

The fundraiser raised $11,500 for the Special Olympics, which will help to pay for athletes to compete in state and national Special Olympics competitions.

Local NFL Pass, Punt and Kick Competition

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies in partnership with the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission and Batesburg-Leesville Police Department hosted a Punt, Pass and Kick competition, which was sponsored by the National Football League.

A total of 13 children ages 6 to 13 competed in the event, which was held on the football field at the Batesburg-Leesville Leisure Center in Batesburg. Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said the Punt, Pass and Kick competition was coordinated by Batesburg-Leesville Resident Deputy Jacob Hallman.

The Lexington One Board of Trustees, Superintendent Karen Woodward and LHS Head Varsity Baseball Coach Brian Hucks congratulate Lexington High baseball player Nick Ciuffo for being selected to play in two All-American games.

 

Ciuffo, a catcher, started in both the 2012 Under Armour All-America Classic and the Perfect Game High School All-American Classic presented by Rawlings.  He was the only player in South Carolina to play in both All-American games.

In one week, the Palmetto Boxing Association in partnership with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Columbia Police Department will present a boxing match between a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputy and Columbia Police Department officer as part of the Metro Madness 2 boxing competition that will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 29 at the Township Auditorium, 1703 Taylor Street, Columbia.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies in partnership with the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission and Batesburg-Leesville Police Department will conduct a Punt, Pass and Kick competition that the National Football League sponsors. Children who are ages 6 to 15 can compete in the event, which will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 29 on the football field at the Batesburg-Leesville Leisure Center, 227 Highland Avenue, Batesburg.

Williams-Brice Stadium now offers Bojangles' as one of its concession options.

The Charlotte-based chicken and biscuit chain will operate out of two locations, one on the home side of the stadium and one under the new video board in the north end zone.
