WKHS volleyball player selected for All-Star Tournament

 

Lexington County School District One Superintendent Karen Woodward and White Knoll High Assistant Volleyball Coach Erica Gambrell congratulate Solia Niutupuivaha for being selected to play in the All-Star Volleyball Tournament.

 

The South Carolina Coaches Association for Women’s Sports selected Niutupuivaha for the tournament where she played on the 3A/4A All-Star South team.

Polar Bears at Lake Carolina Ready to Brave Chilly Water

In its ninth year, the Annual Polar Bear Plunge at Lake Carolina aims to raise funds for Children’s Charities of the Midlands, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting charitable endeavors that are committed to improving the health, welfare and education of South Carolina's youth. On Saturday, January 5, 2013, participants will brave the chilly waters at Lake Carolina.  The event takes place from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Lake Carolina’s Sunset Park.

 

The first splash is scheduled to occur at 10:30 a.m.

PHS inducts Haggard into Hall of Fame

PHS inducts Haggard into Hall of Fame

Pelion High principal Clark Cooper presents retired PHS Principal Jean Haggard with a plaque commemorating her induction into the Pelion High Hall of Fame.

 

Haggard served as principal at PHS for 20 years and worked as an educator for more than 47 years.  During her successful career in education, she has received multiple awards including an Honorary Doctor of Pedagogy from Newberry College and an Honorary FFA Chapter Degree.
