Roller Derby Event!

After a two-month absence, the Richland County Regulators and Carolina Wreckingballs return to the National Guard Armory on Saturday to take on Rogue Rollergirls and the River City Rejects.

Doors will open for the event at 3:30 p.m., and the men’s bout begins at 4 p.m. First whistle for the women’s bout blows at 6 p.m. Food, drinks and entertainment, including music by local DJ Dick Not Richard, will be provided for the duration of the event. Proceeds from this bout will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Columbia Jaycees to host Baseball Game on May 31st

The Columbia Jaycees will host a good old fashioned game of Blowfish baseball at the Capital City Stadium.

Come out and enjoy America's favorite pastime on Thursday, May 31st. The game begins at 7:05pm, but gates open at 6:00pm. Arrive early to take advantage of their "Thirsty Thursday" deals: two for $3 Bud & Bud Light cans and $2 16oz Bud Light drafts.

Tickets are $7, but pair up with a friend and bring at least 2 non-perishable food donations to receive a complimentary ticket with the purchase of one regular priced ticket.

The UniverSoul Circus 2012 production entitled “US” – featuring Shaolin Kung Fu acrobats from China, bone-breaking contortionists with a hop-hop flair from Guinea, hilarious acrobatic comedy from South Africa, and pro-style hip hop dancers from the United States – will be performing in Columbia in the parking lot Benedict College Football Stadium
