PHMS celebrates principal’s accomplishment | News
The Pleasant Hill Middle family had a special surprise for Principal Thomas Rivers the day he returned to school after earning his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina.
School employees acknowledged his accomplishment by making special signs and decorating his office.
Rivers has 17 years of experience in education, serving as principal at Pleasant Hill Middle for two years, assistant principal at Gilbert High for four years. Before coming to Lexington County School District One he worked at C. A. Johnson High School for six years. Rivers also worked as an education associate for the South Carolina State Department of Education and as an instructor at the University of South Carolina.
