Lexington One holds kindergarten, first grade registration | News
Lexington County School District One elementary schools register children for 4-year-old kindergarten, 5-year-old kindergarten and first grade from Monday, January 28, 2013, to Friday, February 8, 2013, from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. On Thursday, January 31, 2013, all elementary schools will offer extended times for registration from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
In order to register your child, please bring your child’s birth certificate (the long form that gives parents’ names not the short certificate or wallet card) and a completed South Carolina Certificate of Immunization to the school for which your child is zoned.
For proof of residency, please bring a current electric bill/statement showing your name and home address within the district and your S.C. driver’s license or other state or federal photograph identification.
If you are unable to produce any of the documents listed above, please contact the school or the Office of Student Services at 803-821-1029 to discuss alternative documentation that may be acceptable.
If your child will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013, your child may be eligible for the half-day 4-year-old kindergarten program. You must apply for the 4-year-old kindergarten program at the primary school or elementary school in your attendance zone.
If your child will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013, your child is eligible for 5-year-old kindergarten. You must register your child at the elementary school in your attendance zone even if your child currently attends a 4-year-old program in another Lexington One school location.
If your child will be 6 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013, your child is eligible for first grade. If your child currently attends 5-year-old kindergarten in Lexington One, you do not need to enroll your child for first grade. This is done automatically for you. However, if your child currently attends a private 5-year-old kindergarten, you must register your child at the elementary school in your attendance zone.
