Man accused of stealing equipment and tools from churches, schools and businesses | News

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS)- A Lexington man has been arrested on charges he stole tools and equipment from schools, businesses and eight churches near Lexington and West Columbia.
Lexington County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 39-year-old Michael Lamar Brooks early Thursday morning at his home on Barco Ct. near Lexington. He was arrested on warrants for six counts of burglary, five counts of larceny, petit larceny, breaking into a motor vehicle and receiving stolen goods.
Investigators say they recovered some of the stolen property at Brooks' home after the warrant was served.
Investigators say the thefts occurred between December 20th and January 8th at Lexington Church of God, White Knoll Elementary School, White Knoll Baptist Church, Rhythmics Performing Arts, Engineer Systems, Palmetto Amusements, Gregory Landscaping and A-Z Lawnmower Parts.
Brooks is held at the Lexington County Detention Center on $134,000 bail.
