Lexington Elementary fourth-grade students learn how to measure the age of a Cypress tree while visiting the Congaree National Forest.
During their visit, students received a guided tour and a hands-on demonstration of how to measure the age of a tree. The fourth-graders measured, applied their mathematics knowledge and calculated that the Cypress tree is more than 750 years old.
