LEXINGTON, SC (WIS)- A man who was hit and killed by a train Thursday evening was wearing headphones and dark clothing, according to the coroner's office.
Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman says Phillip A. Stout, 22, of Lexington was walking in the center of the track near South Lake Drive around 5 p.m. when he was struck.
Harman said the engineer attempted to stop the train before hitting Stout, but was unsuccessful.
Stout was pronounced dead at the scene from severe head and body trauma, the coroner said.
The accident remains
under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner's Office and Lexington
Police Department.
