Residents urged to follow water restrictions | News
AIKEN, SC (WIS) - The City of Aiken has implemented voluntary water restrictions for residents.
The Aiken Department of Public Safety says that since the South Carolina Drought Response Committee declared the area in a state of extreme drought, city leaders announced voluntary restrictions on water use.
Residents whose addresses end in odd numbers may water their properties on odd-numbered days. Those whose addresses end in even numbers can water on even-numbered days.
The voluntary water use restrictions will remain in effect until the drought conditions improve. City officials say that if the drought gets worse, the restrictions will become mandatory.
