Deputies arrest 2 teens accused of breaking into garage | Crime
LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Lexington County Sheriff's deputies arrested two 17-year-olds accused of breaking into a garage in Gilbert.
Dalton Wayne Heywood of Leeesville and Travis James Trapp of Monetta are charged with burglary. Borth are awaiting bond hearings at the Lexington County Detention Center.
Sheriff James Metts says the two broke into an enclosed garage outside a home on Green Hills Drive near Gilbert and stole two toolboxes, a battery charger and an arc welder.
According to arrest warrants, Heywood and Trapp broke into the garage at about 4 p.m. Wednesday. At about the same time, deputies investigated a call regarding a suspicious vehicle seen driving in the vicinity of the home. Deputies found a pickup truck with a tailgate down parked next to the garage.
Deputies found one of the tool boxes in the bed of the pickup. The truck is registered to a relative of Trapp. Deputies also noticed a glass window on the garage door had been broken and saw Heywood and Trapp walking out of the garage carrying a toolbox.
Sheriff Metts asks anyone who may have information about possible other crimes Trapp and Heywood may have been involved in to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-Crime-SC.
