Report: Four pet chickens stolen from home | Crime
You know the old joke “why did the chicken cross the road?”-- Well, maybe he was trying to escape the claws of the chicken thief.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of four pet chickens and asking for the community’s assistance in locating them.
According to the incident report, on Friday deputies were dispatched to a home on Silver Oak Lane in reference to a larceny.
Upon arrival, officers met with the complainant who stated four chickens that his children keep as pets were stolen.
The complainant also told deputies that he raised all four chickens at his residence so he considers them as “members of the family.”
The chickens are described as two roosters, one black and speckled, and the other is white and speckled. The other two are hens, one brown, and one black and speckled.
According to the report, the chickens are valued at $10 each.
