Sheriff: VP arrested for diverting funds from company | Crime
Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Detectives arrested a Lexington man on charges that he diverted funds from a company, in which he served as Vice President, exceeding $27,000 for his personal use.
Officers arrested 44-year-old Jerry Lee Cliborne on a charge of breach of trust.
The report said on six, separate occasions between November of 2012 and March of 2013, Cliborne deposited company checks totaling $27,477 to a private bank account which he controlled.
Cliborne established the bank account with a business name similar to a vendor with which his company has regular business dealings, Sheriff James Metts said.
Cliborne was booked at the Lexington County Detention Center on Wednesday, April 3 where he is awaiting a bond hearing scheduled for the morning of Thursday, April 4.
