Report: Suspect opens back door, robs driver at gunpoint | Crime
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an armed robbery.
The report said officers responded to Crossfield Road in reference to a stolen vehicle on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, deputies met with the 22-year-old victim who stated that he was having a conversation on his cell phone when he went outside and got into the driver seat of his 2007 dark gray Chevy Impala car, the report stated.
Deputies say when the victim started the car; an unknown black male opened the back passenger door of the vehicle and pointed a handgun at him.
The report said the suspect ordered the victim out of the car.
Once the victim exited the vehicle, the suspect got behind the wheel and backed the car out, all while still pointing the gun at the victim through the windshield, deputies say.
The suspect then sped off, heading towards Fish Hatchery Road.
The victim described the suspect as a black male, 6’01, between 120 -130lbs. last seen wearing a black hoodie, mask and blue jeans.
