Report: Employee steals case of chicken from Zaxby's | Crime
A 31-year-old Columbia man may be looking for a new job after deputies say he stole a case of chicken from his employer.
According to a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department incident report, officers responded to the Zaxby’s located on Saint Andrews Road in reference to a larceny on Friday.
The report said on Wednesday, Nov. 14, surveillance video captured the 31-year-old employee taking a case of chicken from the freezer.
Deputies say after the employee removed the case from the freezer, he began to take the chicken out the box.
According to the report, the employee was seen on video turning around with an empty case that he then threw in the garbage.
Deputies say the manager told officers the business will not press charges against the employee as long as he agrees to pay for the chicken and resign from his position.
The employee agreed to the terms and advised officers that he would pay for the chicken on Monday, the report stated.
