Deputies: Man arrested after using hammer to break into pawn shop

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested a Lexington man on an arrest warrant that alleges that the man broke into a pawn and gun shop on Sunset Boulevard near Lexington.

Deputies say around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 27-year-old Christopher Lee Williams broke into Lexington Pawn and Gun located on Sunset Boulevard by forcing his way through the front window at the business.

According to sheriff’s deputies, Williams used a hammer to shatter the glass on top of a display case and stole one .45-caliber Heritage revolver, one .45-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver and one .357-caliber Ruger Blackhawk handgun.

Deputies arrested Williams Wednesday at his home on an arrest warrant on a charge of second-degree burglary.

Williams was being held on Thursday, September 20 at the Lexington County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

Detectives say all three handguns were recovered.
