LCSD, LPD to host fourth annual Cops and Calabash | Community Spirit
Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Lexington Police Department officers will work as servers during the fourth annual Cops and Calabash fund raiser for South Carolina Special Olympics that will be conducted between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 and between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, May 24 at a Fatz restaurant, 942 East Main Street, Lexington. All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts encourages citizens to participate in the fund raiser. Officers will serve customers who eat at the restaurant and will donate to Special Olympics any cash that customers leave at their tables after they finish eating their meals. Customers also will be able to leave donations for Special Olympics at their dining tables during the fund raiser.

Deputies’ participation in the Cops and Calabash fund raiser for South Carolina Special Olympics reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
