LPD presents Midlands Chapter of the Blue Star Mothers with $500 check | Community Spirit

During the Town Council meeting on January 7, 2013, the Lexington Police Department presented a check in the amount of $500.00 to the Midlands Chapter of the Blue Star Mothers. These funds were provided from this year’s proceeds of the department’s annual Fall Festival which was held in October.
The Midlands Blue Star Mothers is a support through service organization in the central South Carolina area. It is made up of moms, joining together to share their pride, devotion and worries for their sons and daughters currently serving in all branches of the Armed Forces of the United States, and their sons and daughters who are now veterans. The Midlands Chapter first came together shortly after the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001 and is an official chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America, a group who formed during World War II.
