Lexington County School District One Parent Educator Receives Scholarship | Community Spirit

Lexington County School District One Superintendent Karen Woodward congratulates Maria Arroyo, from the Lexington One Parenting Center, for winning a Diversity Leaders Initiative scholarship from the S.C. Arts Commission and the Riley Institute.

The scholarship pays for Arroyo to attend the Midland’s class of the Diversity Leaders Initiative and to participate in OneSouthCarolina, a statewide gathering of current and past Initiative participants. The Diversity Leaders class will meet six times between February and June 2013, and participants will examine the challenges and opportunities presented by the many facets of diversity in our state.
