Traffic Safety Officer Grady Johnson was awarded the distinguished honor of “Alive at 25 Instructor of the Year” at the Coalition Appreciation Dinner on November 8, 2012, in Columbia. 

Officer Johnson began his employment as a Patrolman with the Lexington Police Department in 2008 and has been assigned to the Traffic Unit for the last two and a half years.  He is a Certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Instructor, Impaired Driver Instructor, and is a member of the Accident Reconstruction Team for the department.

TSO Grady Johnson received this award in recognition for his contributions and commitment that he demonstrated towards educating young adults through the Alive at 25 Program.  His leadership, passion and dedication helped reduce the number a fatal crashes of individuals 15-24 years of age by 39% across the State of South Carolina.
