The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department now is accepting monetary donations and donations of non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys for the agency’s annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive.
Food and toys that are donated to the Sheriff’s Department will be distributed to children and adults in Lexington County who are in need of assistance.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts encourages citizens to participate in the annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive. Lt. Kevin Blackmon is coordinating the food and toy drive. Citizens who have questions concerning donations for the food and toy drive can contact Blackmon at his office at (803) 785-2411.
Non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at Sheriff’s Department offices, Metts said. Those offices include the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington.
Food and toys that are donated to the Sheriff’s Department during the agency’s annual holiday food and toy drive will be provided to Harvest Hope Food Bank and The Salvation Army, which will distribute the food and toys to persons who are in need of assistance, Metts said.
The holiday food and toy drive reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
