Pelion High and White Knoll High students in the Pelion High Culinary Arts Program participated in the Culinary Arts Competition at the South Carolina State Fair for the 12th year.
Winners include Jesyka Branch who won first place in brownies and for her seven-layer chocolate cake and second place in drop cookies and candy. Jesica Cribb received a participation award, and Raven Morris won first place in cupcakes and chocolate layer cake and second place in brownies. Erin Palen won first place in bar cookies and second place in brownies. Tyler Rogers won second place in muffins, and Travis Scott won first place in brownies. Savanna Suggs won first place for her seven-layer coconut raspberry cake and second place in decorated cookies. John Swetlik won first place in corn muffins and second place in candy. Nora Williams won first place in muffins and second place in brownies and drop cookies. Austin Zeagler also won first place in drop cookies.
Students at White Knoll High have the ability to participate in culinary arts classes at Pelion High.
