South Carolina Ag Council Offers Fall Ag Tour | Arts & Culture
The South Carolina Agricultural Council is holding its Fall Agricultural Tour on Thursday, October 25, 2012.
The daylong event will start with a tour of Gibson’s Cattle Farm (SC’s only organic cattle farm, http://www.gibsonfarmsorganicbeef.com/?m=1) near Westminster, SC in the morning followed by a tour of Red Creek Farm (working/herding dogs, http://www.redcreekfarm.com/) near Townville, SC in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided at Gibson’s Cattle Farm by Blue Marble Café and Bakery in Seneca, SC. On the way back to Cayce, SC, the tour will stop by Happy Cow Creamery in Pelzer, SC (http://www.happycowcreamery.com/) for those participants who wish to purchase dairy products.
Participant check-in will be at 7:00 a.m. at the South Carolina Farm Bureau, 724 Knox Abbott Drive, Cayce, S.C. The bus will depart at 7:15 a.m. and return to the Farm Bureau building by 6:00 p.m. Tour participants are asked to park behind the Farm Bureau Building in the parking lot across the street.
Due to bus seating, the tour will be limited to 47 people, so PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. The deadline to register is Wednesday, October 17, 2012. The tour is open to the public until the bus seating is filled, with priority given to Council members and their guests.
Cost of the tour is $45 for each tour participant. Lunch, beverages, and snacks are included in the cost of the tour.
